Early Rider's 20” Belter range absolutely lives up to its name. The addition of 3 gears, allows your child to really spread their wings and have a proper explore. This extra functionality comes doesn't compromise Early Riders aim of producing durable and low maintenance bikes either. Achieved through a 3 speed SRAM i-Motion gear hub, there is no fiddly rear dérailleur to maintain or break. This also allows Early Rider to stick with belt drive, which is beneficial for a number of reasons. Belts rarely stretch and will last for thousands of miles, without requiring any regular maintenance such as lubrication, also meaning it doesn't pick up as much dirt and grit that lubricant often attracts to a chain. The belt drive/gear hub drivetrain means less hassle all round and a durable bike that can withstand years of riding with very little maintenance, meaning more time can be spent focusing on having fun.

The 20” Urban Belter was made with an emphasis on being lightweight, coming it at 7.4kgs, which is light for a 20” bike with gears. Choosing to use a gear hub and lightweight Maxxis DTH tyres, Early rider have produced a bike weighing just 300g more than its single speed version. This is especially relevant when you consider that 1kg to a child is like 4 or 5kgs to an adult, so the bikes weight is really noticeable to children. However it's not just Early Rider's light-weighting measures that help with acceleration, the whole bike is designed for low rolling-resistance. The high thread count high psi tyres, the sealed cartridge bearing hubs and even bespoke full bearing aluminium pedals all help to make the 20”Urban Belter a very user friendly bike.
