Born from humble origins as the manufacturer of the Speed tyre lever in the late 1990's, Crankbrothers now produce a wide range of high quality bicycle components and accessories for off-road riding. Well engineered and fully serviceable Crankbrothers' use a universal double sealed bearing system in all of their pedals except for the Stamp which has its own unique double sealed bearing system. Sine the launch of their 2016 range Crankbrothers' have used an exclusive Igus LL-Glide inner bearing and an Enduro cartridge outer bearing in a double sealed spindle. This has significantly enhanced the durability of their products as well as improving the quality of their spinning performance. A fully serviceable and rebuildable spindle system, the best performance and lifespan is always attained through proper pedal maintenance. When the bearings do need replacing, the bearings and seals can be fully replaced with an inexpensive Crankbrothers' pedal refresh kit, meaning the internals of a Crankbrother's pedal can be refreshed indefinitely for renewable lifespan and performance.

Crankbrothers 4-sided clipless mechanism is found on all of their clipless pedals (except the hybrid Doubleshot). It's designed for easy entry and exit and superior mud shedding to accommodate the need to clip in and out a lot when off-roading. Crankbrothers premium brass cleats can be configured for either 15^o or 20^o release angle and offer 6^o of float as standard (0^o float cleats can be purchased separately), for a free feeling when clipped in that doesn't place unnecessary stress on knee joints.
