2017 Whyte 29-CS Black/Green

Whyte's frame for their 29er carbon hardtail series is stunning. A uni-directional carbon fibre multi-monocoque shell provides excellent stiffness, feel and strength, whilst also coming in lighter than Whyte's aluminium 29er frames. It benefits from the all the top efforts of Whyte's innovators, utilising their DOX sealed inner cabling system to waterproof their cables and make them easier to service and Whyte's unique weather proof seat clamping system. It is also a great example of Whyte's mountain bike geometry with a, super low bottom bracket contributing to a lower centre of gravity, a very slack 69.3 degree head angle and a pushed out front wheel, which all combines with 29” wheels for superb stability at speed. Not to leave the bike unresponsive, the rear wheel is tucked in tight and extra-wide handlebars are fitted ensuring that stability does not come at a cost to manoeuvrability.

The 29-CS is designed to be a cross-country speed machine. The front forks have a travel of 100mm keeping them compact, for greater, speed, traction and feel. The bike comes with lightweight tubeless ready Race Face wheels, built with double sealed cartridge bearing hubs for great durability. It also comes with tubeless ready Maxxis Ikon tyres, so you can go tubeless shaving inner tube weight, diminishing rolling resistance and reducing the chance of punctures. As is common across many of Whyte's top bikes the 29-CS comes with a single chain ring groupset, which in this instance is produced by Shimano. Shimano's XT 1 spec 11 groupset, manifests on the 29-CS with 32 teeth on the chainring and 11-42 teeth on the cassette for a great range of gears to help you hit top speed on the trail and to make the hill on he way home a bit easier. Shedding the front mech and excess chainrings reduces weight, removes complex components to maintain and allows the frame to be developed with symmetrical chainstays, helping to distribute the weight of the frame better and provide greater strength and rigidity at the back of the bike. Shimano XT disc brakes provide reliable stopping ability in whatever condition you may find yourself riding in.
