Fulcrum's Racing Quattro Carbon wheelset is brilliant for fast riding and thanks to Fulcrum's many innovations regarding durability, they can be ridden in a range of conditions all year round if needs be. Fulcrum have balanced these wheels exceptionally, they are lightweight and reactive, whilst also being strong and durable. With a 40mm depth front and back these rims present a nice balance between being aerodynamic and not being overly susceptible to cross-winds. The rims are made from uni-directional carbon fibre weave, for enhanced stiffness and therefore reactivity and strength. The internals of the rim and the braking surface are made from 3K carbon fibre. The braking surface benefits from Fulrum's 3Diamant carbon braking surface technology. Fulcrum use a diamond tipped tool to eliminate any resin imperfections on the braking surface revealing a surface of just woven carbon fibres for the brakes to work on. This improves stopping performance in dry and wet conditions, making braking considerably smoother.

Not just relying on superior quality materials for strength, Fulcrum use their MoMag technology to produce a uniform rim without any spoke holes, which is stronger and doesn't require rim tape, reducing weight and aiding convenience. With Fulcrums DRSC spoke and rim coupling system, the spokes are distributed and tensioned perfectly evenly to best support the rim. Fulcrum's engineers have designed exclusive spoke housings, ensuring that the spokes will never lose their initial tension, boosting the wheels longevity considerably and keeping the spokes optimal aerodynamic position too. The rear wheel has a two to one spoke ratio, with 14 spokes on the drive side and 7 on the non-drive side. This enhances power transfer and longevity, supporting the extra torsional forces that pass through the the drive side of a wheel. For these same reasons the flange on the drive side of the rear hub is oversized. The hubs have high quality adjustable steel bearings, perfect for the tough conditions the British climate can throw at wheels. The freewheel is made from plasma treated aluminium, which is especially hard wearing, meaning it can be thinner and lighter.
